Remix Proposal
Now Playing: Remix
For remix I'm going to use a selection of my favorite instrumental pieces created by some of my favorite artists. Many of these artists use a multitude of ethinic insturments which is going to be my goal, to create an ethnic atmostphere throughout the remixed peice. Its going to be an amalgimation of many different songs combined together to create one final product. I am trying to create something with an ambient feel, there are many unknown instruments out there that we don' tknow about which the selected songs that I own use and utilize well. I'm also going for an enigmatic feel and mood. Because I had so many troubles with vidio last time I'm going to be trying audio for this assignment. There will be no fumbling around trying to capture footage and all of the songs that I will be using I have on disk so they are easily accessable. The timeline of this project will be difficult to work with but I am hoping to have many of clips imported and ready to work with next class on wednesday. I've always loved the sound and feel of ethnic music and have wanted to exparenent with the sounds and feel it can invoke in a person. This assignment is a chance for me to express my love for ethnic sounds.

Drawbots
Topic: Randomness
Well, I'm not a robotics person, I've never had luck with creating them, and every time I try I manage to some way or another kill it. Which hasn't changed either, I did that with this bot. It over all was an intersting experience, however I found my attention wandering to other things such as my sketchbook. As students played and watched their bot draw circular patterns on the paper I entertained myself with other things periodically glancing up to see what was happening. I guess one needs to have the right mind set and facination with robotics to keep focused on them, I don't. There were some moments that were entertaining and some that just made me wonder, but over all it was a interesting experience.

Ancient World
Topic: Reports
History is one of my passions so when I was reserching other blogs my main focus was history sites. Could I find one that had intersting topics as well as a number of links to suppor their ideas. I did happen to find one that matched the criteria I was looking for.

The Ancient World Blog

This blog is filled with comments on new articles published in the acheological world which at times can be quite contreversail. The site is updated regularly with links to new finds and articles so that the reader has a chance to view the piece or topic being reviewed. Other links called "Ancient World Links" are found on the site and take the reader to sites containing information about the particular ancient civilization they wish to know about. The blog is informative and highly entertaining and if one is interested in news from the acheological world, its a good way to attain the new discoveries and controversies.

The Beginning
Finally, I'm getting around to making the first post. As with the other students in the class I'll be posting the image of the ascii picture I created even though it is quite large.

For those who can't really understand what it is, its an image of some ancient temple ruins from the early mediteranian era. Much of the postings on this blog will be either school related or history related and probably nothing in between.

On the side at the bottom of the links are some sites that you might find entertaining. The ones posted right now, Amethystium, Grundman and Toby Emerson are all composers and some of my favorites. I'll be adding more links in the near future.
